In the heart of Paris’s 11th arrondissement, architect Xavier Leguet oversaw the renovation of a top-floor attic apartment, transforming it into a stylish and functional living space.
Every Light, a Challenge
One of the main challenges in renovations is repositioning light points. "The new light point is rarely in the same position as the previous one, and sometimes it can be complicated, if not impossible, to install new electrical wiring while complying with regulations," the architect Xavier Leguet explained. This is where Filé and Lumet products made the difference, allowing us to retain the existing power supply while placing light sources exactly where they were needed. How? With exposed fabric cables, which not only simplify installation but also add a decorative and colorful touch to the environment.
Enhancing Unique Architectural Features
Attic apartments, with their pitched ceilings and asymmetrical lines, require lighting solutions that complement the architecture rather than compete with it.
"Choosing a lamp that extends in length can be an interesting way to emphasize the roofline. For an unconventional space, nothing works better than a lighting design that stands out."
"With Beautiful Bulbs, the Job Is Done!"
Just add a few colorful fabric cables, pair them with designer bulbs, and lighting becomes more than just a functional necessity—it turns into a decorative element that defines the atmosphere of the apartment. These solutions don’t just solve technical constraints; they transform every challenge into a design opportunity.
